The Russian MilFoods, to which the Finnish Paulig sold its business in the country, began producing coffee under the new Poetti brand at a plant in the Tver region. About it reported in the regional government.
The administration of the Tver region clarified that the company that produces Poetti coffee products is located on the territory of the Borovlevo-2 industrial park near Tver. The plant’s capacity is designed to produce over 25 million kg of coffee per year.
MilFoods supply chain director Sergey Yushin said that the first coffee brand Poetti Daily Classic Crema rolled off the assembly line in 1 kg packaging. According to Mr. Yushin, it will be available in stores in September.
MilFoods intends to produce not only grain and ground coffee, but also launch a line of instant coffee, the government of the region noted. The planned investment volume is at least 135 million rubles. The launch of the line is scheduled for 2023.
The new Poetti brand was presented on June 16 at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2022 as part of a meeting between the Governor of the Tver Region, Igor Rudeni, and the management of MilFoods, CEO Vikas Soi and Marketing Director Mikhail Glukhov.
This May Paulig sold his business in Russia to Mr. Soi, who is an Indian citizen and head of the Milagro Beverage Company. All operations in Russia, including the roastery in Tver and Paulig’s 200 employees, have been taken over by the new owner. As part of the deal, Paulig’s trademarks and recipes were not sold.
