Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said in Telegram, that some “literary classics” who have been “thrown over the border” are rejoicing at striking their own country. He expressed the opinion that such behavior is beyond good and evil, and advocated depriving these writers of the opportunity to earn money in Russia.
“Okay, they really don’t like the “political regime”, they oppose the decisions of the state. This is normal, you can’t please everyone, everyone has the right to their own point of view. But to rejoice at striking your own country, to wish the death of your citizens – this, you know, is completely “out of line”, it is beyond good and evil,” wrote Dmitry Medvedev.
According to the politician, such literary figures receive fees for their works and their film adaptations in Russia, and this money is collected at the expense of people whom they “openly consider orcs and whom they wish to die from Ukrainian drones.” In his opinion, they will not be able to earn money abroad, since they “are by no means Nabokovs and are unlikely to be able to write in other languages, like Russian.”
“So let the literary degenerates die of anger in a foreign land,” summed up the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council.
A few days ago, writer Boris Akunin, in a prank by Vovan and Lexus, said that he understands the concept of “a good Russian is a dead Russian,” considers UAV attacks on Russian cities and the Crimean Bridge normal, and advocates the division of Russia. In a conversation with the same pranksters, writer Dmitry Bykov (recognized as a foreign agent) promised to donate the fee for a new book to drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
On December 15 it became known that the publishing house AST stopped the release of books by Messrs. Akunin and Bykov before the legal assessment of their political statements. The chain of stores “Read-Gorod – Bukvoed”, as well as the service “Litres”, have suspended sales of books by these authors.
