Russian businessmen Roman Rotenberg and Gennady Timchenko, who also hold Finnish citizenship, are selling a multifunctional indoor arena in Helsinki, Helsinki Hall, formerly the Hartwall Arena. This is reported by the Finnish media, in particular Jatkoaika.
The main owner of the arena is Arena Events Ltd, the company has notified all co-owners of the sale. Today, on November 18, the meeting of shareholders of the company is taking place. The main owners of Arena Events are Rotenberg and Timchenko, writes Jatkoaika.
Arena Events reports that the share sale proceeded “reasonably”. According to the company, today’s general meeting of shareholders will be the last one in which Arena Events is a shareholder. At the same time, the company does not name a possible new main owner of the arena.
The land under Helsinki Hall belongs to the City of Helsinki, Jatkoaika notes. Roman Rotenberg and Gennady Timchenko are on the sanctions lists, and the arena they own has not been used since the spring, the newspaper reports.
