“The financial situation is very sad and everyone knows it, but no one is taking action. Perhaps we should do a thorough analysis of what is happening. Maybe there are other processes going on there that need to be corrected with the participation of law enforcement agencies or others. Well, it’s impossible: the financial hole in the Post Office is growing and growing, and no one is reacting,” she said, addressing the Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov, who spoke to the senators with a forecast of the country’s socio-economic development.

Matvienko also noted that in order to solve the financial problems of Russian Post, it is necessary to develop a “correct model of existence” and take those measures that the government considers necessary. “But we urgently need to correct the situation – the further we close our eyes, the worse and worse it will be,” she emphasized. Otherwise, Matvienko warned, “the financial hole will turn into a huge, huge hole where everything will fall through.”
