The experiment on remote sale of prescription drugs may begin on March 1, 2023 without the participation of a number of large marketplaces. This was reported to Vedomosti by representatives of several online retailers.
The discussed mechanism for the sale of medicines in the capital market (and there is the highest share of the sale of over-the-counter drugs via the Internet – 21.1% of pharmacy turnover, according to DSM Group for 2022) is too complicated for customers, explains an Ozon representative. It is assumed that for the online sale of drugs it will be necessary to use the Unified Medical Information and Analytical System (EMIAS), two more marketplace employees add. To order the delivery of a medicine, the client will have to go to the EMIAS application, select their prescriptions, and then go from the application to the pharmacy website or online platform, an Ozon representative explained.
