Manturov and Sobyanin launched pharmaceutical production in Zelenograd

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov and Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin took part in the launch of production at the R-Opra pharmaceutical plant in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ)Technopolis Moscow” in Zelenograd. About it informs TASS.

According to Manturov, the plant’s capacity will be 270 million packages of drugs per year. In particular, in 2024, anticancer drugs produced by R-Opra will go on sale. The Deputy Prime Minister expressed confidence that doctors and patients “will appreciate the quality and availability of domestic medicines.”

In the first half of 2023, the volume of drug production in Moscow increased by 67.5% compared to the same period last year, Sobyanin noted. He added that five years ago, the Moscow authorities, together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, set the task of “maximizing the localization of the production of imported drugs in Russia,” in particular, in the field of oncology.

According to the mayor, eight factories have been built in these five years. By 2027, seven more enterprises will be ready. Sobyanin declaredthat within seven years Moscow will purchase R-Opra medicines, they will go to city medical institutions.

The plant in Zelenograd will produce drugs for the treatment of oncology, orphan respiratory, rheumatic, cardiovascular, neurological and nephrological diseases. In addition, R-Opra plans to produce drugs for the treatment of HIV infection and immunosuppressants.

The Industrial Development Fund allocated a loan in the amount of 2 billion rubles for the construction of R-Opra, Manturov drew attention. The plant will also be able to enjoy the benefits of being a resident of a special economic zone, he added.
