The departure of Yuri Solomin shocked representatives of the acting world. The legendary actor and director died at the age of 89. At the end of last year, Yuri Methodievich had a stroke, he spent two months in the hospital and only recently returned home. Doctors believed that they managed to stabilize the director’s condition. Solomin’s colleague, actress Larisa Luzhina, in a conversation with MK correspondents, named the unexpected cause of her colleague’s death.
“Yura was an artist and director with a capital letter,” Larisa Anatolyevna sighs. – He is an absolutely brilliant person. In our younger years, we often met at festivals and at our film festivals, I knew his brother well. Yura was an amazing person, his eyes simply shone with endless kindness. He was very charming and always communicated with people like a human being. Yura loved artists very much, and they reciprocated his feelings. He was a worthy leader of his theater. He took care of the actors, which is very important for a director. Yura thought about others, knew how to sympathize and understand other people’s misfortune.
“I’m about the same age as Solomin,” the actress continues. “We’re all already on our way there.” We’ll all meet there soon, and there’s nothing we can do about it. My condolences are terrible: it’s very sad when such talents leave.
Luzhina agrees with colleagues who believe that Solomin’s stroke occurred against the background of high emotional stress. In his profession, Yuri Methodievich gave himself completely, without reserve.
“I overworked, overworked, got nervous,” explains the reasons for the deterioration in the health of actor Luzhin. – We have a very emotional profession, which takes a lot of energy. I was supposed to go to Arkhangelsk now, but I had to refuse. I thought about going by force, but I couldn’t. I also feel bad. They tell me: “Larissa, take care of yourself.” And Yura was the same – he gave himself entirely to his profession. We – actors – sometimes forget that we are not seven-core. That we are the same simple people who can have different diseases: strokes and heart attacks. But somehow you forget about it on stage. You think I’ll rest later. And my heart breaks due to the strain. During performances, high blood pressure often rises. Brain hemorrhage – that’s all.
