Loading of petroleum products on the Russian Railways network to the domestic market increased by 11% over the week

Loading of petroleum products to the domestic market on the network of JSC Russian Railways in the period from March 18 to 24 increased by 11% compared to the same period last year. In the eastern direction, loadings increased by 32.7% over the past week.

Shipments of gasoline and diesel fuel to the domestic market have increased by 9.5% since the beginning of March. In the eastern direction, an increase of 22.3% was recorded. Russian Railways noted that the railway quickly adapted to changes in the logistics of delivering oil cargo after the ban on gasoline exports was introduced. In particular, the technological process was restructured to change supply chains.

“We interact with oil companies and tank owners around the clock. We have reallocated resources for the timely processing of trains at loading and unloading stations,” the message says in Telegram– Russian Railways channel.

The ban on the export of gasoline by government decision was introduced from March 1 to August 31. According to Kommersant’s interlocutors, the embargo on gasoline exports has complicated the situation with railway shipments, since the transshipment capacities of consignees cannot cope with the reorientation of fuel. On March 22, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak instructed oil companies, together with Russian Railways, to ensure uninterrupted export of petroleum products and loading of refineries to meet growing spring demand.
