Occupying third place rating of the richest Russian businessmen, the beneficiary of the NLMK steel company Vladimir Lisin registered two companies in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates). The agency reports Bloomberg with reference to the business registry.

In May, Mr. Lisin “helped register several offices and set up two SPVs — Serenity II Holdings and Nebula II Holdings — in the Abu Dhabi global market,” Bloomberg writes, citing the registry.

SPV (special purpose vehicle) is a design company created to implement a specific project. SPV allows you to effectively manage individual business processes and financial flows.

Earlier in 2023, a Russian businessman established four legal entities in the free financial zone of Abu Dhabi, the agency reports. What the structures of Vladimir Lisin will do is still unclear, Bloomberg notes. His representative declined to comment.

Mr. Lisin is not under UK, EU or US sanctions.

Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) is an international financial center and free zone located on the island of Al Marya. The financial center was founded in 2013 and fully operational in October 2015. It consists of the Financial Services Regulator, the Registration Office and the ADGM courts.

Earlier in May, Abu Dhabi authorities announced a 10-fold expansion of ADGM to make it one of the largest financial zones in the world.
