Limp Bizkit has released a video for the song Out Of Style, which is included in the sixth studio album of the American rock band in 2021. The team members appear in the video in deepfake images (fake images created using artificial intelligence) of world leaders.
The role of Russian President Vladimir Putin was played by frontman Fred Durst, the other members of the group – in the images of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, US President Joe Biden, Chinese President Xi Jinping, and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. As the band, dressed as world leaders, play their instruments in a garage, a man posing as Tom Cruise, best known for playing the protagonist of the Mission: Impossible film series, is watching. He is frying sausages in a Woodstock apron, and at the end of the video he puts out a Pacific sign from them.
The song Out Of Style begins with the words: “We can’t change the past, but we can start today to make tomorrow better.” Also in the composition there are words: “We must be on the same team.”
Fred Durst was previously under Ukrainian sanctions for expressing a desire to obtain a Russian passport in 2015 and talking about plans to live in Crimea. The vocalist himself noted that Ksenia Beryazeva – at that time his wife – was a Crimean.
