Today, December 20, in the morning the operator confirmed the presence of a failure. “Dear subscribers, we know that now in a number of cities in the west and south of Ukraine there are difficulties with voice communications and mobile applications. On December 12, the largest disruption to Ukraine’s information infrastructure since February 2022 occurred; tens of millions of Ukrainians were unable to access mobile communications and the Internet. Ukrainian intelligence services accused Russia of carrying out a powerful cyber attack on Kyivstar. The problems affected the banking sector and a number of other critical industries. “Kyivstar” statedthat hackers broke into the security system through an employee account.
