In Russia, an additional 400,000 rooms may be built by 2030 to develop tourism infrastructure. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin, speaking at the “Russia” forum. The broadcast is conducted on the website of the Russian Society “Knowledge”.

“We must build 400,000 rooms for tourism. <...> Firstly, the ruble has weakened: not everyone can travel abroad now. Secondly, we still have a great opportunity within the country. There has been a boom in tourism development, people travel around the country a lot, but there is not enough infrastructure, hotels, roads, and services. Therefore, we set ourselves a priority task <...> to build 400,000 rooms by 2030. This is actually no small task,” he said.

In addition, Khusnullin noted that by 2030, 1 billion square meters should be built in Russia. m of housing, including 9 million apartments and 4 million individual housing construction, as well as 350 million sq. m of commercial real estate. Other government plans include the construction of 5,500 social facilities and at least 15,000 km of roads.

On behalf of the President, by 2030, year-round seaside resorts designed to accommodate at least 10 million tourists per year should be operational in Russia. As Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said earlier, the Golden Sands of Russia and Saki resorts in Crimea, the Caspian coastal cluster in Dagestan, the Russian Baltic in Kaliningrad, etc. could also become priorities. The authorities expect that the development of federal year-round resorts will contribute to the implementation of the objectives of the national project “Tourism and Hospitality Industry”, the key indicator of which is an increase in the number of domestic tourist trips in Russia to 140 million by 2030.
