Kazakhstan Oil Company “KazMunayGas” reported, which signed an agreement with Rosneft Deutschland (a subsidiary of the Russian Rosneft nationalized by the German authorities) on the supply of oil to Germany for 2023. Deliveries will be carried out through the Druzhba oil pipeline.
According to the terms of the agreement, KazMunayGas will monthly supply oil to Germany in the amount of 100,000 tons until the end of this year. The signed contract concerns the supply of crude oil to the PCK Raffinerie refinery in the German city of Schwedt. One of its shareholders is Rosneft Deutschland GmbH.
It is alleged that the total volume of Kazmunaigas’ oil supplies to Germany in 2023 will be at least 890 thousand tons. The company also explained that “the German side is interested in increasing the volume of deliveries of Kazakh oil from the resources of other Kazakh oil companies.”
Formerly Russian oil company Rosneft updatedand an agreement with Kazakhstan’s “Kaztransoil” on the supply to China through Kazakhstan of 10 million tons of oil per year for ten years. Rosneft signed a long-term contract for the supply of oil with the Chinese CNPC back in 2013, and in 2022 extended it until 2034. Under the conditions of sanctions, it is beneficial for a Russian oil company to increase pumping along routes that are not subject to restrictions.
