Concern “Kalashnikov” over the past year increased the production of small arms by 40%, and the production of air-based guided missiles “Whirlwind” – almost 1.5 times. This was stated by the industrial director of the complex of weapons, ammunition and special chemistry of Rostec Bekhan Ozdoev.
Today, August 30, Mr. Ozdoev was re-elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kalashnikov Concern. In this position, he is engaged in strategic tasks related, among other things, to increasing the production of the latest types of weapons and unmanned vehicles. He has been in office since November 2021.
“Today, Kalashnikov is the flagship of the Russian defense industry, which makes a significant contribution to achieving the goals of a special military operation … The production of drones has been increased many times over. This trend will only intensify in the future,” promised Bekhan Ozdoev, whose words are quoted in press release Rostec.
In April, Kalashnikov reported that in the first two months of 2023 it increased production in a number of areas by 20% in annual terms. In May, the head of Rostec, Sergei Chemezov, said that almost 80% of the Russian equipment involved in the military operation in Ukraine is produced at the enterprises of the state corporation. Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev declaredthat the conveyors of the military-industrial complex in the country work in three shifts.
