President Vladimir Putin 4 August signed excess profit tax law. The one-time business fee will affect companies whose profits for 2021 and 2022 exceeded RUB 1 billion. The tax rate is set at 10% of the amount of excess profits. The rate could be reduced to 5% if the company pays the tax this year. The government expects as a result of the collection to replenish the budget by 300 billion rubles.
