The Chukavin sniper rifle (SHF) began to be mass-produced. This was stated by the president of the Kalashnikov concern Alan Lushnikov, writes TASS.
“The Chukavin rifle has successfully passed state tests. Microwaves are being manufactured in the interests of the customer,” Lushnikov said at IDEX 2023.
November 3, 2022 Russian Ministry of Defense signed contracts with the concern for the supply of new sniper rifles. Then Lushnikov said that an agreement had been signed between Kalashnikov and the ministry “for this year, next year and beyond.”
SVCh is a semi-automatic sniper rifle that will replace the Dragunov rifle (SVD), which was put into service in 1963. According to the manufacturer, the new SVCh has a range of up to 1 km, which is 200 m more than SVD. In addition, the rifle has redundant mechanical sights, it is possible to adjust the trigger pull, as well as a freely suspended forearm to improve stability and accuracy of fire.
