Izvestia: expensive household appliances began to be delivered to Russia on order

Russian retailers have begun placing orders for the supply of luxury household appliances of well-known brands, the price of which can exceed 100,000 rubles, reported “News”.
Group “M Video – Eldorado”, according to the newspaper, has already launched such a mechanism. The list of supplied brands includes Bora, Smeg, Miele, Kuppersbusch, KitchenAid, as well as LG, Samsung and others. In addition, the Inventive Retail group took up the execution of such deliveries in May.
Inventive Retail told the newspaper that the group has launched the Brandly platform, where you can order brands Milele, Dyson and Bang & Olufsen and others. The companies noted that deliveries of goods to retailers are carried out from one to four weeks.
May 10 Kommersant wrotethat imported household appliances may rise in price by 10-12% after Kazakhstan’s decision to tighten control over supplies to Russia. Georgiy Vlastopulo, director general of the logistics company Optimalog, then told the newspaper that there was still an opportunity to transport goods through the republic, but the tightening of customs control led to an increase in the cost of supplies. As a result, suppliers began to look for alternative channels, including through China, Kyrgyzstan and the UAE.
Since April 1, a system for recording imported and exported products has been launched in Kazakhstan, which will allow controlling goods passing through Kazakhstan for re-export until they reach their final destination. As the Financial Times and Eurasianet wrote, this measure is necessary “to demonstrate compliance with Western sanctions on Russia and sanctioned parallel imports.”
Formerly Vedomosti wrotethat due to the departure of foreign brands, sales of electronics and household appliances fell by 15.4% (at the end of 2022, total sales amounted to 2.2 trillion rubles).
