Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs Mehdi Safari said that his country’s authorities would buy gas from Russia for domestic needs and sell Iranian gas to other countries. According to the deputy minister, the only problem with such a scheme is that Iran needs an intermediary to purchase Russian gas. He said that the agreement with Russia is being finalized. As Mr. Safari said, Russia discussed such a gas exchange scheme with Turkey, but Iran managed to “quickly take advantage of the opportunities that open up.”

At the moment, the potential volume of raw materials that Iran can receive from Russia – 50 million cubic meters. m daily. October 9 Russia and Iran concluded a deal for the construction of gas infrastructure and field development. $40 billion will go to gas pipelines, $4 billion to fields.
