"Yandex.Market" began to sell goods suspended in Russia Decathlon


Yandex.Market has started selling products of the French sporting goods retailer Decathlon. The company said in a statement that for this, the marketplace bought the remaining goods from the company after the suspension of activities in Russia.

“You can now order sporting goods from the French retailer Decathlon on Yandex.Market. When this company closed its stores in the Russian Federation, the marketplace bought stocks of goods from its Russian representative office and now began to trade them from its warehouses, ”the message says, citing TASS.

March 29 Decathlon press office informedthat the company is forced to suspend operations in Russia because "the conditions of supply are no longer met" due to anti-Russian sanctions. August 16 retailer's goods become available for purchase on the Ozon marketplace. Currently, Decathlon products are also sold at Wildberries and SberMegaMarket.

Decathlon is owned by the Mulliez Family Association, which also owns Auchan and Leroy Merlin. Decathlon specializes in merchandise for over 70 sports.

The first Decathlon store in Russia was opened in Moscow in 2006. At the time of the suspension of activities, 2.5 thousand employees worked in the Russian structure of Decathlon.
