Investment in timber processing in Russia peaked in 2022

Capital investments of large and medium enterprises of the timber industry complex (TIC) in Russia in 2022 increased, according to preliminary data, by 1–4% compared to the previous year and amounted to 184–189 billion rubles. This follows from the data provided to Vedomosti by the Federal Forest Accounting Institution Roslesinforg.
In the fourth quarter of 2022, according to a representative of the institution, about 45–50 billion rubles were invested in timber processing in Russia. Thus, the dynamics of investments in October-December compared to the same period in 2021 could be either negative (-8%) or positive (+2%). But the final figure may be adjusted by another 10-15% upwards, since sectoral statistical reporting is received with a delay of one to two months, the representative of Roslesinforg explained (the agency will present the exact figures in February 2023).
