Vladimir Potanin’s Interros has completed the process of transferring a 47.5% stake in Rosbank to the businessman’s charitable foundation. This is reported on site credit organization.
“Earlier, another 7.5% of the bank’s shares were acquired by the bank’s subsidiary, the management company ”Rusfinance”, part of which will be directed to a motivation program for Rosbank employees. As a result of the renewal of the shareholder structure, the share of the Interros group in the share capital of Rosbank amounted to a little less than 45%,” the report says.
The transferred shares of Rosbank, it follows from the message, are aimed at replenishing five endowment funds of the fund, each of which will go to a separate independent management company.
“The change in the shareholder structure fully reflects the desire of the Interros group to maintain the independent nature of the management of Rosbank, in which the Board of Directors, which already now consists mainly of independent directors, will play the main role,” the bank added.
Rosbank serves about 5 million private clients, 78 thousand small business clients and 7.3 thousand large corporate clients. The credit institution has 255 branches in 66 regions of Russia.
Rosbank was part of the international financial group Societe Generale until it left Russia in April. In May Societe Generale closed a deal to sell the bank to Interros. Up to 50% stake in the bank Vladimir Potanin promised transfer to a charitable foundation, another 10% of the shares – to a motivational program for Rosbank employees.
