British oil and gas company BP will no longer publish its annual Statistical Review of World Energy. Now the publication will be handled by the Energy Institute (Energy Institute, EI), whose members are specialists working in the energy sector, the press service reported. BP.
BP has published an annual study since 1952. The survey is “the most comprehensive, objective and timely compilation and analysis of data on global energy production, consumption and emissions,” the company said in a press release. The study was published on the BP website in the public domain.
It is noted that the center for research and policy in the field of energy economics at Heriot-Watt University in Scotland will continue to collect data for the review. EI’s partners in preparing the review will be the audit firm KPMG and the consulting firm Kearny. EI plans to release its 72nd review at the end of June.
