In 2022, VTB Bank paid RUB 330 billion in interest income on deposits to customers, which is more than four times more than in 2021. The deposit portfolio of VTB individuals for the year amounted to more than 3.2 trillion rubles, exceeding the figure for the previous year by 22%. Kommersant has a VTB report.
In the first half of 2022, against the backdrop of an increase in the key rate, short-term deposits with a term of up to six months were in the greatest demand at VTB – this was the main reason for the growth of the banking portfolio. At the same time, the volume of foreign currency deposits decreased by half, to 10%, while the volume of classic ruble deposits amounted to 90%.
In 2022, VTB clients invested 8% more in endowment and investment life insurance. Escrow account balances at the bank increased by 30% to RUB 733 billion, and the balance of non-state pension accounts increased by 21%.
