British actor Michael Caine has announced his retirement at age 90. He is a two-time Oscar winner and has appeared in many Christopher Nolan films.

“I keep saying I’m going to retire. Well, now I’m retired,” Mr. Kane said in an interview with BBC radio (quoted by AFP). “The only roles I can get now are 90-year-old men. Or maybe 85-year-olds,” the actor added.

Over a 70-year career, Mr. Kane appeared in more than 160 films. His last film, The Great Fugitive, was released on October 6. Six-time Oscar nominee and winner of two statuettes for Best Supporting Actor in the films Hannah and Her Sisters (1986) and The Cider House Rules (1999). He also has three Golden Globes to his name (best actor in the films “Educating Rita” and “Voice” in 1984 and 1999, respectively, best actor in a miniseries or TV movie for the series “Jack the Ripper” in 1989). In recent years, he has been remembered for his roles in Christopher Nolan’s films, including Tenet (2020), Interstellar (2014), the Batman trilogy (2005, 2008 and 2012), in which he played the superhero’s butler, as well as films “Inception” (2010) and “Prestige” (2006).
