In the Trans-Baikal Territory, the Aeroservice carrier stopped flights on seven social routes due to lack of funding from the regional budget. How informs The Ministry of Construction, Roads and Transport of Transbaikalia, at the moment “is determining the source of funding” in order to resume flights.
“Intra-regional air transportation was carried out at a special rate, allowing residents of the region to purchase affordable tickets at an affordable price, in addition, part of the cost of the flight was compensated from budget funds. The funds allocated for these purposes for 2023 ended due to an increase in the tariff and high demand for flights.
The ministry also notes that social flights to remote areas were launched in April this year. Previously, they were not carried out due to problems with the maintenance of the runways at local airfields.
In Aeroservice, in a conversation with Kommersant, they clarified that the company “repeatedly informed the regional authorities about the possible termination of flights,” while the carrier “is ready to resume flights if the issue of financing is resolved.”
Social flights in Transbaikalia were carried out from Chita to such settlements as Gazimursky Zavod, Menza, Krasnokamensk, Kyra, Tungokochen, Ust-Karenga, Yumurchen.
