Split personality
Vyacheslav Makarov was probably the first TV presenter who had a real split personality. Now Makarov is both in the ordinary world and in the virtual world in the form of an avatar. Vyacheslav himself is more amused than alarmed by this situation, although before the start of the new and very ambitious “Avatar Show”, its presenter expects surprises.
At one time, the Mask show combined a musical adventure and a real quest to unravel the stellar personalities hidden under bright masks. It must be admitted that the format of the show itself allowed fantasy to roam. But if the “Mask” is essentially a theatrical performance, where all the outfits and scenery are real, then the next step, obviously, could be access to the virtual space. At least the technology already allows it.
“We have successfully tested augmented reality technologies in the production of the entertainment format Showmaskgoon, and for the third year in a row we are releasing the most secret show of our television, The Mask,” says Timur Weinstein, general producer of the NTV channel. “The development of a unique technology for a new project lasted more than six months, and now we can say with confidence that we are ready to create a fabulous universe that everyone dreamed of being in.”
Nine artists will take part in the Avatar Show, for each of them singing is a professional occupation. Each star will hide under the avatar of their favorite character. The task of the jury is to guess which celebrity performs in one or another virtual image. They say that the appearance of a digital hero will be as consonant as possible with the inner world of his famous owner.
If the jury correctly names the person behind the avatar, the participant immediately opens up and leaves the project – this will be the main difference between the Avatar Show and the Mask. And this can happen several times per program. Several participants can leave the show at once, but new stars with new avatars will come in their place in the next issue.
The judges in the show will play with open visors, and the names of almost all the members of the star jury are already known. The virtual camouflage from the stars will be torn off by showman Timur Batrutdinov, whom the audience fell in love with, including in the image of the Hare from the second season of Mask, TV presenter and video blogger Ida Galich, singer, actor and TV presenter Sergey Lazarev, as well as singer Mark Tishman, who participated in the Mask in the image of the White Eagle. However, the intrigue is not fully disclosed, the name of the fifth member of the jury remained unnamed and will be announced closer to the premiere.
Before filming begins, all participants in the process probably do not fully understand their place in the virtual universe, but they clearly want to experience new sensations in augmented reality.
“We are preparing for filming with might and main,” says Vyacheslav Makarov, host of the Avatar Show. “This is a unique, lively, super-tech show. I’m sure it will be very big. It’s nice that I will be not only the host, but also the performer of his signature song. By the way, I had a similar experience. In January of this year, for the third season of “Mask”, we recorded the anthem and shot a video.”
