In the new season of the series “According to the law of war” found a lot of inaccuracies

The events of the sixth season “According to the laws of war” return the heroes of the series to the beginning of the war. By all indications, this is a prequel, the need for which, probably, is explained only by the fact that on the eve of the May holidays, it is impossible to do without production of this genre.
The finale of the fifth season was quite rightly perceived by many as a sweeping and even dramatic point in the history of the project. The war is over, Rokotov died, which means that the continuation of the action without one of the most charismatic characters is hardly possible. There were other considerations on which the creators of the series should have rounded off. Even fans of the film, not without regret, noticed that by the fifth season the wick of the action seemed to be screwed on, and there was a clear tiredness in everything that was happening on the screen. And that means, really, it’s time to tie.
However, the audience’s logic, as well as the opinions of film critics, are hardly of decisive importance when it comes to television products of a strategic nature. By certain dates, we need certain films, and this is exactly the case when producers need to salute and do it.
As a result, the series, which was not very much expected, had another season, where the characters were made five years younger. This time the plot takes place in November 1941 in Rostov. Employees of the military prosecutor’s office, Elagina (Ekaterina Klimova) and Mirsky (Maxim Drozd), in the course of investigating several intricate crimes, encounter well-trained saboteurs.
A certain advantage of multi-season series is that viewers are immersed in an already familiar and comfortable atmosphere. They know the characters, they know what to expect from them, and they don’t have to work too hard to understand what’s happening on the screen. And you can immediately imagine a certain level of quality.
It is absolutely obvious that Klimova in the sixth season of the project will be able to clearly play a melodrama, without which historical cinema is simply impossible for us. One can hardly doubt the ability of Maxim Drozd to fit perfectly into the detective story. And, of course, Alexander Pankratov-Cherny and his charm of an old-school actor again have every chance of becoming a trademark of the project.
It’s funny in its own way that the cons of the series have also become familiar and passing from season to season. “Klimova seems to have just come from a beauty salon, but according to the plot, there seems to be a war going on …” – the spectators grumble first of all. Female ostracism, perhaps, is often the result not so much of logic as of emotions, but in this case, such remarks, in general, are on topic. It is strange to reproach the actress for wanting to be a beauty in the frame, but if the beautiful heroine in the story catches villains day and night, then her every appearance with a perfect haircut looks a little far-fetched. Visually, Under the Laws of War often resembles some kind of sugary oil painting, and this approach does not always correspond to the disturbing atmosphere of the beginning of the war as an integral part of the plot.
But if the disturbing atmosphere is largely successful, then with the general melodramatic line everything is more difficult. Elagina and Rokotov conducted investigations and built personal relationships very smoothly for several seasons. We can say that Ekaterina Klimova and Evgeny Volovenko turned out to be a good film couple, but now Rokotov disappears, and it immediately becomes clear how important both the character and the actor were for the film. Of course, there are intelligible scenario explanations for Rokotov’s absence from Rostov in 1941, but, judging by the responses, this does not make it any easier for the public. “It would be better if they filmed a sequel, as after the war, Elagin and the surviving Rokotov catch criminals and raise their children,” complain the indignant viewers.
Some people are not into romance. A whole flurry of indignations about the not quite correct military uniform and confusion with the streets of Rostov, probably, could be expected. I wonder if there is a chance that we will finally have a project that will completely satisfy fans of all sorts of historical trifles? If it appears, it will be a black day for many critics – they will simply be deprived of a reason for righteous anger and inspiration will be killed.
Perhaps the main problem of “According to the Laws of War” is the series “Saboteur”. It seems that both are military detectives, but watching “Saboteur” is associated with constant fears of missing something. In the case of Under the Laws of War, there is sometimes a desire not to see some episodes for the way they are written and played.
More than once it has been noticed that it is better to end the series at the peak of popularity. However, in a world where producers rule, this rarely happens. At first they try to squeeze out the idea to the last drop and only then throw it away. In the sixth season of “By the Law of War” there is still something for which the audience loves this series. But in order to leave beautifully, you still need to shoot a more spectacular sequel.
