In Russia, OOO Electronic Arts was established by the Dutch Electronic Arts Nederland BV and the German Electronic Arts GmbH. It follows from the company’s extract that information about the termination of the legal entity’s activities through its liquidation was entered into the register on March 31, the agency writes. Electronic Arts has been working in Russia since 2007.
In early March 2022, EA announced the suspension of the sale of its products in Russia and Belarus due to a special military operation in Ukraine. Since then, the developer’s games have not been available for purchase in the Russian Origin store or the EA app, including in-game stores. It was reported that since July last year, the developer’s games have been imported to Russia through parallel imports.
At the end of November 2022 Izvestia reported that the Sims and FIFA video game developer has completely left the Russian market. According to an ex-employee of a PR agency that used to promote EA in Russia, the company moved all marketing activities related to the CIS countries to its office in Poland.
