In Russia, the availability of continuous glucose monitoring tools has decreased, Natalya Mokrysheva, director of the National Medical Research Center for Endocrinology, told Kommersant. Devices from the Irish-American company Medtronic have disappeared from Russian pharmacies. Problems began after the US authorities added components for glucose monitoring systems to the list of dual-use products.

The components of the Medtronic device were included in the register of dual-use goods in May 2023.

There are analogues of this device on the Russian market, but they are not suitable for children under four years of age. The Chinese systems on the market do not meet the requirements, experts explain.
