The court decision states that Telegram refused to remove false data about the losses of the Russian army on the territory of Ukraine, reports TASS.

The agency notes that the court’s decision was known in December, but the reason for the fine was not disclosed. The text of the court decision, which TASS has at its disposal, states that Roskomnadzor identified information in Telegram channels about Russian military personnel killed on the territory of Ukraine.

The agency confirmed the existence of these publications with screenshots dated September 8 and 11, 2023, after which it drew up a protocol regarding the messenger, which was sent to the court, the agency reports. According to TASS, Telegram representatives did not attend the meeting, although they were notified about it through seven different email addresses.

As reported “Vedomosti”, the decision, which TASS writes about, was made by the court on December 5, 2023. The publication clarifies that the decision was made by the magistrate of the 422nd judicial district of the Tagansky district of Moscow.
