The IKEA chain of stores for home goods has increased the number of cities in Russia for the delivery of goods as part of an online sale. This was reported on the website of the retailer.
The delivery area has expanded by another ten cities. Delivery is carried out to Volgograd, Voronezh, Penza, Perm, Saratov, Sochi, Tolyatti, Tyumen, Ulyanovsk and Chelyabinsk, the website says.
Previously, IKEA could bring goods to customers only in those cities in which there are chain stores. These are Moscow, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Rostov-on-Don, Samara, Ufa, as well as the territories adjacent to them, but no further than 50 km from the city.
On March 4, IKEA temporarily closed its stores in Russia amid a Russian special operation in Ukraine. In mid-June, it became known that the company was looking for buyers for its 4 factories in Russia, as well as reducing staff and selling off the rest of the goods. The sale for employees took place at the end of June in the stores of the chain. On July 5, an online sale for customers started. It continues to this day. However, buyers have repeatedly complained about failures in the site. Difficulties arose due to the large number of people who wanted to buy IKEA products.
Earlier, information appeared on social networks that the Swedish retailer plans to resume work in Russia. Later, the press service denied this information and clarified that now options for resuming work are not being considered.
