Board of Directors of the St. Petersburg International Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange (SPIMEX) following the meeting on November 3 appointed former head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) Igor Artemyev, president of the trading platform. The powers of Alexey Rybnikov, who headed SPbMTSB since 2011, have been terminated.
Igor Artemyev, whose words were quoted by the press service of the trading platform, noted that among the further tasks of SPIMEX is the continuation of the formation of national indicators, including for oil. “They (indicators .— “Ъ”) are acquiring today not only economic, but also increasingly geopolitical significance. We have to develop and present to the Board of Directors, regulators and the market a strategy for the development of the exchange for the next period. There is a lot of work ahead, we will continue to implement what we have started and develop new things,” Mr. Artemyev commented on the appointment.
Igor Artemyev headed the FAS from 2004 to 2020, after which he was appointed assistant to Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. November 3 Mr. Artemyev was released from the post of assistant to the prime minister at his own request.
Alexey Rybnikov has been the president of SPbIMEX since September 2011. Previously, he served as CEO of the RSX trading system. From 2003 to 2009, Mr. Rybnikov was the General Director of the Moscow Interbank Currency Exchange.
