CEO of the oldest Russian IT company IBS Grigory Kocharov in an interview RBC said that his company has a list of “prohibited” countries for employees. If an employee works remotely from these countries, he may be fired. The company also has a list of “acceptable” and friendly countries. Which countries are included in these lists, he did not disclose.
“Forbidden” countries include states that have a negative attitude towards Russia, have imposed sanctions on Russian companies, or are members of NATO or the European Union. As Mr. Kocharov said, everyone who left for such countries had to return to Russia by November 10. “Permissible” countries are countries with a neutral attitude towards Russia. Everyone who left for these countries must decide before January 1 what they will do next – stay there, move to Russia or to the territory of “friendly” states.
However, according to Georgy Kocharov, less than 1% of the total number of employees of the company left. Some feared mobilization, but half did so out of “their own fears and concerns.”
By estimated Association “Russoft”, since the beginning of hostilities in Ukraine, 10-40% of IT specialists have left Russia. Up to 30% of IT specialists returned to the country by November 1. Against this background, employers have reduced offers for salaries in the IT sector. According to Habr Career, already in August, the salary ceiling in this industry averaged 160 thousand rubles. – 11% less than a year earlier.
