French fries, Adjarian khachapuri and rolls. The Yandex Food aggregator named the most popular delivered dishes among Russians in the past year. Service data shows that regardless of the time of day, customers prefer pizza and burgers. Soups were popular in the daily diet. Most often we chose borscht and tom yum. In the morning, baked goods were in demand, and at night, shawarma. Its popularity has tripled since 2023. Among other goods, demand for hot dogs, waffles and coffee also tripled. The company explains this by the growing popularity of delivered breakfasts. Over the past two years, their number has increased by 40%, the aggregator noted.

“Kommersant FM” talked to restaurateurs and chefs and found out what trends in delivery they expect in 2024:

Chef of the Selfie restaurant Anatoly Kazakov: “In fact, there is almost no healthy food in the delivery – everything is fatty, fried, sweet. I think the share of healthy dishes will increase. Because now the delivery of healthy food has scanty indicators. This tilt will gradually level out.”

Restaurateur Alexander Sorkin: “There is strong growth in the restaurant business and delivery. Many people have stopped cooking themselves; young people don’t know how. They order a lot of shrimp and seafood. It’s more difficult with oysters due to storage conditions. Seafood and everything connected with it is very fashionable now.”

Co-owner of the restaurant holding Restart Vasilchuk Brothers Alexey Vasilchuk: “There is no good Russian cuisine. It will develop. Everything else is overloaded. People are bored, that’s the mood now, it seems to me. A huge number of regions have all fallen into sushi, into some kind of original history. Borscht, beef Stroganoff, Olivier, these are the things you need. How much sushi and pizza can you eat? I think there will be a new trend.”

The Yandex Food service has highlighted unusual orders separately. The largest was made in Moscow and consisted of 188 dishes. It included sandwiches, dumplings, pasta and desserts. And one of the most expensive orders is Georgian cuisine worth more than 230 thousand rubles. In addition, another unknown customer bought 69 lattes and 95 pizzas.
