At the same time as the reinforcements of regulating doctors, to respond to the on-call number held by general medicine (116-117), six “unscheduled care” centers have opened since January to accommodate patients for consultation. When the emergency crisis worsened this summer, the device was there to absorb the shock.
“We also have voluntary doctor’s offices who offer additional slots, resumes Doctor Bossis. Of course, we would always like more, we cannot deny that the situation remains difficult, people sometimes wait several hours before having a doctor on the phone, but, overall, we manage to provide care in the right place, at the right time, with the right professional, which does not necessarily mean an appointment within a minute. »
Faced with the crisis which is hitting the hospital hard, and in the first place the emergency services, forced to reduce the airfoil or even to close punctually, the city medicine is called to the rescue. To relieve this congested hospital “front door”, the Minister of Health, François Braun, this summer opened up the possibility of organizing patient screening, via the 15 – around 20% of the 660 services in the territory. use it, according to the ministry, including Vendée hospitals like that of La Roche-sur-Yon, at night – while advancing a range of measures so that patients who can be treated are taken care of in town.

Successfully reorienting patients is one of the key issues in this organization of care. On the city medicine side, there is thus, among the forty-one measures adopted since mid-July, a revaluation of 15 euros “for any act carried out by a liberal doctor at the request of the regulation [SAMU ou service d’accès aux soins] for an out-of-patient patient”or even an increase in the hourly rate for general practitioner regulators. ” This regulation system is a good thingprovided that liberal medicine can structure itself to offer access to unscheduled care for patients, notes Doctor Marc Noizet, president of the SAMU-Urgences de France union. But the situation remains heterogeneous, and this is not the case everywhere. »
