Hotel company AFK Sistema plans to create a chain of restaurants

Cosmos Hotel Group, the operating company of the hotel operator Cosmos Hotel Group (CHG), which is part of AFK Sistema, has filed an application with Rospatent for the registration of the Space by Cosmos trademark. According to SPARK-Interfax, this happened in mid-April this year. There are no other details. CHG President Alexander Biba explained that the company is launching its own restaurant brand under this name. Such points, according to him, will open in the newly commissioned hotels of the 4-star level. The first Space by Cosmos restaurant on 337.5 sq. m will appear in a hotel under construction in Omsk, its launch is scheduled for the second half of 2023. He did not disclose investments in it. The area of ​​other restaurants, according to Biba, will depend on the number of rooms in the hotel. At the same time, the establishments themselves will be designed not only for hotel guests, but also for third-party visitors, he specified.

CHG is one of the largest domestic hotel operators. The company’s portfolio includes 32 hotels with approximately 9,000 rooms in 19 cities in Russia and abroad. Among its facilities are Cosmos Moscow (1777 rooms) on Mira Avenue, Cosmos Paveletskaya Hotel (171 rooms) on Kozhevnicheskaya Street, Cosmos Smart Dubininskaya (243 rooms) on Dubininskaya Street, Collection Izumrudny Les in Altai and so on. In early February 2023, CHG signed an agreement to acquire 10 hotels in four Russian cities from the Norwegian Wenaas Hotel Russia AS. We are talking about six hotels in St. Petersburg (among them Park Inn by Radisson Pribaltiyskaya, Park Inn by Radisson Nevsky, Radisson Blu Royal Hotel), two in Moscow (Park Inn by Radisson Sheremetyevo, Radisson Blu Sheremetyevo Airport), as well as two in Murmansk (Park Inn by Radisson Murmansk) and Yekaterinburg (Park Inn by Radisson Ekaterinburg).
