Gintaras Rinkevičius, artistic director of the State Orchestra of Lithuania, did not support the idea of a ban on the performance of works by Russian composers. The Sputnik Lithuania Telegram channel writes about this.
Rinkevičius admitted that he fully supports the ban on entry into the country of musicians who support the CBO. At the same time, he cannot understand what Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Sergei Rachmaninov and Dmitri Shostakovich were guilty of.
In addition, the artistic director of the Lithuanian orchestra emphasized that in other countries the music of these composers is performed, but their works are not played in Lithuania or Poland. He added that he thinks it’s unfair.
