The Federal Customs Service (FTS) of Russia was subjected to a hacker attack, as a result of which the work of the unified information system of customs authorities (EIS TO) was partially paralyzed. This was reported to Vedomosti by a representative of the department.

“Due to the cyber attack on the IT resources of the FCS, which began on April 10, there are still failures in the functioning of the unified information system of the customs authorities. Specialists of the Federal Customs Service and other departments are working around the clock to restore the system’s performance,” he said. And he added that now she is already “partially restored.”

At checkpoints on the border, he said, inspectors carry out customs operations “using paper carriers.” At the same time, failures in the operation of the information system at the border crossing by individuals, according to the Federal Customs Service, were not reflected

“If problems arise at checkpoints, we recommend that participants in foreign economic activity (FEA) contact the hotlines of regional customs departments,” the FCS representative added.

On April 10, the press service of the FCS reported that as a result of external influence on IT resources, “failures are recorded, customs operations are difficult in some cases.”
