On July 31, news appeared in the Russian media about the desire of the GITIS leadership to start training specialists in the direction of “Dramaturgy”, and the rector Grigory Zaslavsky, talking to the press, said that not a single university in the country trains certified playwrights.

“I, like you, am a journalist, and I’m not used to taking anyone’s word for it. Before saying this, I talked with Alexei Varlamov (Rector of LIT) and Anna Glukhanyuk, Rector of the Yekaterinburg Theater Institute, where Nikolai Vladimirovich Kolyada now teaches, ”said Grigory Anatolyevich.
The interlocutor of the publication stressed that these educational institutions train specialists whose diplomas include the profession “literary worker”.
Zaslavsky assured that the training of creative personnel in the future will be carried out taking into account the needs of the regions. From the ministries of culture of the subjects of the federation will receive accurate data on how many and what kind of specialists need to be trained.
Recall that earlier at a meeting of the Public Council under the State Duma Committee on Culture, VGIK rector Vladimir Malyshev said that universities are recruiting future specialists “in the dark”.
