Russian designer Gosha Rubchinsky has become the new chief designer of the Yeezy clothing and footwear brand of American rapper Kanye West. Kanye West announced this on page X (ex-Twitter).
“YEEZY welcomes Gosha Rubchinskiy as its new Head of Design. The arrival of this legendary Russian designer at YEEZY, the world’s leading brand in music and fashion, is an important achievement in the history of design,” the rapper said.
At the same time, on the Instagram account (the social network belongs to Meta, is banned and recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation) of Gosha Rubchinsky, a message appeared about the termination of long-term cooperation with the Japanese brand Comme Des Garons. Gosha Rubchinsky worked as a designer on the rapper’s new album Vultures, which is due out in December this year.
In 2018, Kanye West posted on Twitter a sketch of a future tattoo that Gosha Rubchinsky drew for him. The rapper planned to get a tattoo with the inscription Saint West (Saint West is the son of Kanye and Kim Kardashian) on his neck. The rapper’s followers said that the Russian designer used ready-made fonts for the tattoo sketch.
