Goldman Sachs withdrew from the capital of the owner of CYAN

The American investment bank Goldman Sachs has exited the capital of Cian PLC, the parent company of CIAN. This follows from documents companies submitted to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). At the beginning of 2022, Goldman Sachs and its affiliates owned 10.1% of Cian (more than 7 million shares).
That Goldman Sachs is transferring its Russian assets to local top managers, reported January 30. According to documents filed with the SEC, in June 2022, Cian acquired a new shareholder, Broomfield International Limited, which received more than 6.57 million (9.4%) of the company’s shares. In November 2022, Maksim Klimov, Managing Director of the Bank’s European Special Situation Group, and Anton Schrader, Managing Director of Goldman Sachs in Russia, registered Broomfield Proprietary Investments Ltd in Dubai.
Goldman Sachs accepted the decision to end operations in Russia in March 2022 due to regulatory and licensing requirements against the backdrop of a special operation. It became the first major Wall Street bank to leave the country since February 24th. In addition to Cian, the main assets of Goldman Sachs in the Russian Federation were shares in HeadHunter Group PLC (owner of HeadHunter) and IXcellerate Limited (parent structure for a data center operator in Russia).
