Russian and Soviet composer Gennady Gladkov will be buried at the Vagankovskoye cemetery in Moscow tomorrow, October 19. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to a source familiar with the situation.
Gennady Gladkov died October 16 at the age of 89. Composer’s assistant and manager Malik Aminov previously reportedthat farewell to Mr. Gladkov will take place in the circle of family and close people; strangers will not be allowed there.
Gennady Gladkov was born on February 18, 1935 in Moscow. He gained the greatest fame as the author of music for films and cartoons, including The Musicians of Bremen, The Kid and Carlson and Gentlemen of Fortune. In total, Mr. Gladkov wrote compositions for more than 110 films, including “12 Chairs” (1976), “Formula of Love” (1984), “After the Rain on Thursday” (1985), “The Man from the Boulevard des Capuchins” (1987). In 2002, Gennady Gladkov was awarded the title of People’s Artist of Russia.
