Gazprom’s bid to pump gas through Ukraine remains at 29.3 million cubic meters

The application for the transit of Russian gas to Europe through Ukraine amounted to 29.3 million cubic meters per day on February 2 against 29.4 million a day earlier, the GTS Operator of Ukraine said. On February 1, the indicator increased by 20%. Gas extraction from European underground storage facilities decreased by about 0.52 percentage points over the day, to 78.5 billion cubic meters, follows from data from the Gas Infrastructure Europe platform.

The entire volume of the application for transit through Ukraine falls on the Sudzha gas measuring station. The volume of transit through Sokhranivka remains at zero.

Since May 2022, Gazprom has been requesting transit in the amount of about 40-43 million cubic meters per day. In January 2023, the figure began to decline. At the beginning of the month, it fell below 38 million cubic meters, on January 20 it was 24.4 million cubic meters.

Since May, Ukraine has not accepted transit through the Sohranivka station, explaining this by force majeure. The pumping of Russian gas to Europe through the Nord Stream has been completely suspended since September due to its damage by explosions. Transit through Poland to Germany stopped after the exchange of sanctions.
