The German company Siemens is involved in the repair of the Nord Stream unit. The company found malfunctions, however, according to representatives of Gazprom, there is nowhere to repair them.
“Siemens takes part in the repair work in accordance with the current contract, detects faults, signs an oil leak detection report, and is ready to fix them. Only there is nowhere to repair, ”Gazprom said in a Telegram channel.
Engine repairs can only be carried out at the Montreal plant, but this is not possible because Canada considers gas turbines as a dual-use facility that is subject to sanctions.
On Friday, September 2, Siemens Energy stated that the failure report published by Gazprom is not enough reason to stop the operation of Nord Stream, and these failures should not lead to a stop in production.
Yesterday at Gazprom announced that Nord Stream will be stopped until the equipment is completely repaired, since the detected malfunctions do not allow for the safe operation of the gas turbine engine. gas pipeline stopped August 31, it was supposed to be turned on September 3.
