The volume of gas supplied by Gazprom today, February 3, through Ukraine amounted to 30.7 million cubic meters. m. On the eve of the application for the transit of Russian gas amounted to 29.3 million cubic meters. m. Thus, over the past day, fuel supplies through Ukrainian territory increased by 4.8%.
“Gazprom supplies Russian gas for transit through the territory of Ukraine in the amount confirmed by the Ukrainian side through the GIS Sudzha — 30.7 million cubic meters. m on February 3. The application for the GIS “Sokhanovka” was rejected,” the company’s press service said (quote from TASS).
Currently, the only way to supply gas from Russia to Europe is through routes through Ukraine and Turkey. In January 2023, the volume of transit began to decline. At the beginning of the month, it fell below 38 million cubic meters. m., as of January 20, it was 24.4 million cubic meters. But already on February 1, the figures increased by 20% to 29.4 million cubic meters. m.
The reduction in supplied volumes occurs against the backdrop of falling gas prices. As of February 2, exchange prices for gas in Europe fell by more than 4% to $640 per 1,000 cubic meters. m.
