The Wildberries online store will introduce a ban on the sale of smoking mixtures and nicotine-free vapes from February 7, reported TASS in the press service of the retailer.

Unscrupulous sellers could sell nicotine-containing products under the guise of nicotine-free products, which is prohibited by the company’s rules, the representative office specified. The news about the changes in Wildberries was sent to the sellers in the offer agreement on January 31, and from February 7 they will come into force.

Earlier on February 1, Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko declared about the need to minimize the use of vapes in the country. The State Duma will prepare proposals on the possibility of banning vapes in Russia. Speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin January 18 instructed relevant committees of the lower house to consider a possible ban on electronic cigarettes. On the same day, the State Duma in the second and third readings adopted a bill to increase excise taxes on liquids for vapes and cigarettes.

MPs have already come up with a proposal to completely ban e-cigarettes and vapes last year. In 2020, their sale to minors was prohibited.
