The transit of Russian gas through Ukraine fell in January 2023 to a historic low, according to Vedomosti calculations based on Gazprom data as of January 30. According to the results of the month, it will amount to less than 1 billion cubic meters. m.
Transit of gas from Russia to the EU through the Gas Transportation System (GTS) of Ukraine fell sharply in May 2022, when Kyiv refused to accept applications for pumping fuel through the Sokhranovka gas measuring station (GIS) in the Rostov region, from where gas enters the territory of the LPR. Since then, transportation has been carried out only through the Sudzha GIS in the Kursk region, from where the fuel goes to the GTS in the Sumy region currently controlled by Ukraine.
