At the end of December 2023, the Federal Antimonopoly Service excited cases against LUKOIL subsidiaries – LLC LUKOIL-Tsentrnefteprodukt and LLC LUKOIL-Uralnefteprodukt. The regulator accused the companies of increasing prices for AI-92 and AI-95 gasoline at the company’s gas stations in the Nizhny Novgorod region and Perm region.
In January, according to Kommersant sources, LUKOIL out of order catalytic cracking installation at the Nizhny Novgorod Refinery, which allows the production of high-octane gasoline. The reason for its stop was the breakdown of foreign equipment, which cannot be replaced in the near future due to sanctions. Because of this, the oil company stopped selling AI-95 gasoline on the stock exchange in early January. At a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak last week, officials called on oil companies not to increase the cost of fuel at gas stations.
