FSB demanded 1.1 billion rubles from Eastern Shipyard

The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation filed two lawsuits with the Moscow Arbitration Court against the Vladivostok shipbuilding enterprise Vostochnaya Verf in the amount of 1.1 billion rubles. This is evidenced by the data of the file of arbitration cases.
Vostochnaya Verf is considered one of the leading shipbuilding enterprises in the Far East. It was founded in 1952, in 1994 the enterprise was transformed into a joint-stock company. Vostochnaya Verf specializes in the construction of warships, supply vessels and berths for the Pacific Fleet and the FSB.
In October 2022, the company filed an application with the Primorsky Territory Arbitration Court with a request to declare it bankrupt. The reasons for this decision in the JSC did not comment. In January 2023, the Primorye Arbitration Court accepted to a bankruptcy claim. Its validity has not yet been verified by the court.
RIA Novosti, citing a source, writes that in the annual report for 2021, the company reported a large loss and a lack of funds to pay off its obligations. According to the interlocutor, the company’s debts exceed several billion rubles.
