The first, “Common Stage: Cooperation of Theaters as a Symbol of the Unity of World Cultures,” was opened by Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova. Her brief, business-like introductory speech – and away we go: the artistic director of the Theater of Nations, Yevgeny Mironov, as a real moderator, takes bread from the official moderator of the discussion, Marina Yudenich, and bombards his Chinese and Japanese colleagues with questions: how popular is Soviet and Russian literature among them? What do they put?

People need a behavioral explanation, and good cinema is an explanation of time and behavior patterns. If books today are just a pretext for a good movie, then cinema in Hollywood sank at the end of the 20th century because it relied on teenagers. Hollywood cinema has ceased to have a cumulative effect. Now we have the opportunity to speak time through cinema. Therefore, I believe that artists should be the first to go into space in order to pull everyone with them into the future.

And film producer Ruben Dishdishyan just reported a sensation: his company bought the rights to the image of Yuri Gagarin from his heirs. “It was not easy, and we are now starting to film the series about Gagarin,” he said. To which director Alexei Uchitel asked the question: “To what extent do we have the right to show Gagarin not as an icon, not as a symbol of the country, but as a person? Frankly?
